If you are involved in a small business or enterprise, half of the problem is getting yourself known. If you have a website, without traffic it is useless. You can have the greatest site in the world, but if no-one visits, you're no further forward. The internet is a great medium for 'spreading the word' but you need to target your advertising to be successful.

Here at the North East Forum, we discuss a wide variety of subjects, and these boards are ideal places for making your business known. Like most forums though, we don't like people spamming us with posts about their businesses, but we're not adverse to the notion of allowing our boards to be used for a little advertising if it's done in a controlled manner. You help us and we'll help you. So we've come up with a system to allow text links to be placed in relevant areas to allow that to happen. It's not expensive, and as this site gets an average of 9,000 unique visitors and 230,000 page views per month (see the attached file) it's a good way to get your name/product seen. If you see the screen shots below, or browse the board and look for the 'red links', you'll soon get the idea how it works and how powerful and targetted it is. If you want to see how many times your ad could be displayed, just dig into a board and look at the 'Views' total on each thread. Your ad could be on every one of them!

Highly Targetted Advertising on the Topic-Specific Category of your choice...

Board advertisers for each individual category here at the North East Forum. Your advertiser's link will be displayed with the board title on the home page and also at the top of each category section where the threads are listed. It will also show on the top and bottom of every thread in that board. This is hugely powerful for you as an advertiser. The bright colour will ensure the advertiser's name is seen. As you can see, we already have some advertisers on these boards, so why not add your name to them? The following illustrations show examples of where your link will be visible on the boards.

Some stats for the site

The Forum gets around 10,000 visitors per month, with an average of 230,000 page views per month. That is more than 100x as many as Online Business Link does for the Northern Echo. All advertisers will be displayed on the main index page, as well as the board they have chosen to advertise on. The site is also extensively indexed in Google, so we have traffic from specific subject searches too. These could all lead to your company link being seen.

Current Pricing

The Introductory Pricing outlined below is good through the end of the year (31/12/08). You can pay via a Paypal account if you have one (our preferred option as all the documentation you need for your accounts is automatically taken care of and it manages the monthly billing process), or if not you can also pay by credit card through the Paypal system. You can also pay by cheque or BACS by arrangement with us (see below for email address)

To advertise with us, we need the following information. Please enclose the information in an accompanying email when making the purchase, by emailing us at dkodigital@yahoo.co.uk?subject=ad information.

a) forum username (if you have one)
b) paypal email address
c) category to place your ad
d) the url of the website you want to link to
e) the text you want to use for the link (max 30 characters)

There are only two available slots per board, so once they've been grabbed, you'll have to wait until an advertiser's agreement expires before you can jump in, so get in early to secure your first choice position.

Payments are accepted through Paypal and are non-refundable once advertisements are placed.

Advertising will be billed on a recurring subscription, at the available rate. If rates go up while you have ads placed on this site, you will continue to get the rate at which you subscribed as long as your ad is active. Advertising can be cancelled at any time simply by logging into your PayPal account.

We also don't allow banners in signatures on the forum as they distract from our own Google advertising.
