There are signals coming through that there could be a real outbreak of winter cold around about the middle of December. It could be the return of The Beast from The East !

Signals are firming up that we could get some really cold stuff from the North East early-mid next week. Still a little too far off to be absolutely certain, but the potential is there for a) very cold weather and b) an appreciable amount of snow for the eastern half of the country. Stay tuned!

Notice that BBC and other weather presenters are now starting to mention this as well. Remember, you heard it here first 3 days ago!  Cool

Looking to be pretty firm now for cold weather on Thursday/Friday (an easterly) followed by more cold weather from a northerly blast over the weekend. I'm going to Durham on Saturday and will hide in Bella Italia if the weather gets too bad.  Cool

Looking at the info from the Hetton Wether station, the likelyhood is that thursday will be cold, yes. But friday is going to be much worse. Not looking forward to "-4 will chill factor" and zero cloud cover. urgh! shivering
