Does anyone know what they are doing and why?

[Edit] It's down as a 'Culvert replacement' and won't be finished until 28th February 2010 !!

Actually, that's a very good page for road works details.

At least they look as thought they're working when you go past. It looks to be quite a big job. I presume that once the left hand side is finished they'll do the same on the right? That could be even more disruptive as the works will be virtually on the roundabout. Do we have winter mayhem to look forward to?

I would thought that they would have made a filter lane to make peak time  queues  lighter ?

I thought that about a year ago they had all that road up for increasing the kerb heights ( dont go down A167 much )

and I thought they were going to put in traffic lights ?

Yes, looks that way. Scheduled finish was 28th Feb I think. They're just making good all of the verges and stuff  now. Traffic is back to two lanes as well I think.
