it is a very middle and upper class saying.

Basically if you do something that is not sporting and fair, people will say... come on old bean, that's just not cricket!... meaning.

aww here pal thats not fair like!

it is not in the rules or not allowed.

you see cricket has lots of rules and if you doo something in cricket the rules are always questioned

I know it's a very old thread, but it hasn't got any better, in fact it's got much worse. The dog mess on the pavement along Dean Road is now such an issue that it's virtually impossible to miss when walking, especially when it's dark. There's a pile every five or six doors or so. The place is literally becoming a s**t tip!

And don't even get me started about pavement parking !  Evil or Very Mad

What would be the position if some happened to be "accidently," scratched by someone walking past?

Must happen all the time when people are trying to get past with pushchairs, etc. The driver will no doubt blame the 'bastard who scratched my car'. Shouldn't have parked on the pavement then. If I'm walking down my street and have my way restricted by a parked car on the pavement, i'll make a point of re-arranging the wing mirror at some odd angle. Anyone pushing a pram or in a wheelchair is forced to travel on the road in my street.  Evil or Very Mad

Where I live there are open plan front gardens. When I walk my 3 dogs, if I find my way restricted by a vehicle then we all have to walk on the garden. I cannot take 3 dogs and myself onto the road, being old and also one dog has trouble manoevring round things because he has 3 legs. Also I do the "dotty old woman " speak...... " come along. We have to walk over this persons garden because they have blocked our way with their vehicle. Roads are for vehicles, not paths ."
One person did confront me and demanded to know who I thought I was walking on her garden. Oh boy did she get a mouthful. She parks on her drive now.
