Hi all,

last week called out to  Chilton to carry out a job ,     Dale street  she said I havent got a postcode

Dont worry,   I had a mate whom used to live there,  and I was looking to invest in a property there 20 years ago

BLOODY HELL  I said when I got there !

not much left of it now !!   most of its rubble now

thing is I think the house was 9 grand  then,  wonder what it would have been worth today ?

What happens to the people whom dont want to leave ?

Seems strange that some house are occupied and some boarded up ready for there fate

Whats the master plan here ?

Seems they knock them down and thats it

Nothing ever happens

I think a lot of it was by CPO. The object was to free up some space and open out those congested terraces. I'm sure Victoria Sponge will be able to tell you more.

Many of the houses had been bought when you could get change from £12,000, hence the owners owed very little on their mortgages ( if anything),

The monetary offers made to purchase weren't good enough for people to buy alternative accommodation outright at today's rates.

and/or perhaps they're not in a situation to take on a mortgage to allow them to move on

So until the offers are improved then the residence stay put - hence demolotion has stopped midway through the terraces.
