I have a PS3 Eye Webcam that has a built in mic and its a very good one as well picks up sound from a very long distance

I would place this in front of my window pointing towards the payphone i live at and if i see any vandalisim i simply record them doing the crime and everything they say is recorded. If the sound is quiet i just amplifiy it in wavepad which improves it a lot.

I then would send this to the police as they have evidence to convict the vandals.

Other forms of video recording such as other webcams. mobile phones  and camcorders would work just as good.

Have you ever had any success? Have you ever had your video evidence used in court to secure a conviction?

Some friends had a problem with the local kids damaging the flat roof on their garage, so they went out to take pics of the youths involved as evidence - then got a call from the police that the kids parents where making a complaint for taking pictures of the youngsters. Where the hell is the justice in that? Twisted Evil

CCTV ?

I was thinking of putting a camera on my van to video:

 the idiots on phones,

 and weavers that cause accidents,

along with stupid stuff like  dodgy trailers,  caravans  being towed at excess speeds and bouncing

drivers having not got a clue ...  ie  the driver I followed for 10 miles in bright sunshine down the A19  with her wipers working full pelt ....  till they started to get slower and slower ....  ( then I turned off ....so I hope she found the switch..before the motor caught fire)

and the seroius ones....

Jumping red lights

avoiding  temporary traffic lights

and my PET HATE !!

NOT GIVING WAY TO THE LOLLYPOP PERSON !!

I was then thinking of posting them on  youtube ?     would this be legal ?

better to name and shame  ...    than a pointless fine or points ?

Reality is...   I cant post a photo on here yet !!   so youtube has no chance

You can counter sue as you have evidence of there kids commiting a crime. Let them try it as the judge will soon look back at them like a dog at a new dish. Also alert the media what the police have said to you and record all incoming calls from them to protect you using modem spy a nice nifty prog. Make sure you inform them the calls are being recorded.

You can get a 56k modem to do it for about £10

Don't think you can sue anyone. It's unfortunately also illegal to film people without their consent, and you can't just use evidence that is deemed inadmissable. And 56k modems don't work on broadband phone lines.

I passed a phone box the other day...   and was very shocked !!

WHY ?

Still had both yellow pages and the phone book still in the slot within the table next to the phone unit ( that works )

Oh and it was clean-ish and had every pane of glass in it

And it was in the north east

So impressed I had to take a photo
